Each year, in the summer term, we hold elections to vote in Head Boy or Head Girl and deputies for the following academic year. The process begins with those wishing to be nominated putting in a letter of application. Each pupil is interviewed by the Headteacher and another member of staff. Three candidates are then short-listed to go forward and begin the canvassing process. This involves designing a poster, which is distributed throughout the school, and candidate presentations in an assembly, in which they put forward reasons why they are the ideal person to become Head or Deputy Head Student.
Every pupil and member of staff has the right to vote, and is encouraged to do so. Voting is held in the hall. The votes are counted twice and the results are announced in assembly. This process gives the school a Head and Deputy Head Pupil.
Prefects and a range of other job roles for students are advertised in the summer and interviews are carried out by the Pastoral Team with student parliament representatives.
