The aim of Oak Lodge Careers guidance is to prepare young people for the future to include further education and to guide them as they become active and valued members of the school and wider community. The vast majority of pupils attend college or further training following their school career at Oak Lodge.
A proportion of Personal Development lessons are dedicated to Careers each year and this is supplemented with a wide range of workplace visits, work shadowing, enterprise workshops and an annual Careers Fayre in school. In Year 11 all pupils will have a two week work experience placement with a local employer. In Years 10 and 11 pupils will experience taster days and transition visits at local colleges. In addition, Oak Lodge purchases independent Careers services with Barbara Cooper, our Hampshire Employability and Careers Advisor.
