At Oak Lodge School we offer each pupil a route to success which best meets their individual special educational needs, develops their social and independence skills and ultimately prepares them for adulthood.
To ensure that each young person follows the most suitable educational route staff consider all aspects of your child’s learning along with their individual needs.
Some pupils may cross over a route in identified subject areas or may move entirely onto another route as their needs change.
Regardless of which of the routes to success your child follows, all students have access to a core curriculum of English, Maths, Personal Development, Life skills and P.E.
Currently there are four routes to success:-
Students follow a core curriculum (English, Maths, Personal Education, ICT and P.E) with a strong emphasis on communication and language skills. Learning tasks are carefully scaffolded to ensure that students are able to work as independently as possible. There are many opportunities to build on individual student’s personal development through social and life skills and personalised key skills. Students work towards Life skills accreditation and Entry Levels.
