Our Community Links

We are committed to building strong, positive relationships with our local community, enriching pupils’ education through collaboration with local organisations, events, and volunteering. These connections foster belonging, responsibility, and meaningful real-world learning.

Lepe Country Park

Year 9 pupils work with Lepe Country Park through our “Community Challenge,” earning the John Muir Award. Activities include conservation, beach cleans, wildlife studies, and sharing their learning through creative projects.

Carpathia Grange Care Home
Pupils regularly visit residents, share stories, play games, host events and choir performances. This intergenerational connection promotes empathy and mutual respect.

Oakhaven Hospice
In previous years through the Acorn Project, pupils created art with residents, explored themes like homelessness. These collaborations foster compassion, creativity, and shared learning.

Simon Chadwick – Illustrator
Simon leads art workshops in support of ASDAN lessons helping pupils develop their artistic skills, confidence, and self-expression. In addition to this, Simon has also supported an extra-curricular Cartooning club, encouraging pupils to explore their creativity beyond the classroom.

St Andrew’s Church
We celebrate Christian festivals with St Andrew’s Church through services, choir performances, and pupil-led reflections, strengthening community ties.

Careers Education
We partner with local businesses and organisations—like Hythe Council, Forestry England, and Highwood Construction—to offer workshops, talks, and Q&As, linking learning to real-world careers in areas like conservation, engineering, and sustainability.

Southampton University Roundnet
Pupils train with university players in the sport of Roundnet, improving skills and confidence. Members of the school’s Roundnet club had the opportunity to compete in a national Roundnet competition hosted by the university, where our pupils proudly represented the school.

Mountbatten School
We collaborate on STEM education through workshops and hands-on challenges, inspiring pupils to explore science, technology, engineering, and maths.

The Honeypot Children’s Charity
Pupils create and donate Christmas gifts for young carers, learning about social responsibility and the charity’s impact.

Waterside Foodbank
Our school actively supports the Waterside Foodbank through reverse advent calendars and our Harvest Festival events, raising awareness of food poverty.

New Forest National Park Authority
As part of the Duke of Edinburgh Award, pupils volunteer on conservation projects, gaining skills in teamwork and environmental care.

Blue Apple Theatre Group
Weekly drama workshops with Blue Apple boost creativity, communication, and confidence, offering inclusive performance opportunities for all pupils.
